New year, new faces, big moves

Moving out of Oklahoma was difficult for 2 reasons: #1 – my momma is really cool, and I love her a lot. #2 – I started this nonprofit, Root to Rise Inc, on my own, and I knew running something as hands-on as a 501(c)3 that provided yoga classes for disenfranchised populations in central OK while I was living in NYC would be more than a bit challenging. Chelsea Patton kept RtR going through the first few years, and those were easily the most difficult. She was a force, and I’ll love her forever for being that amazing force. It’s with intense gratitude that I introduce four new RtR instructors: Janie Renshaw, Beverly Lowe, Lainey Phelps, and Alex Hibbs.

Respectively, these phenomenal women will be taking on classes at correctional facilities, troubled youth centers, and homeless group facilities. Gah…I’m so stoked. Remember, Okies – we’re doing real work in your backyard. Your tax deductible donation goes right back into your community. Follow our progress on the Root to Rise Inc Facebook page and our website. We’re making big moves.
